The Steel Spoon was founded in Sheffield, starting from our founder's home kitchen, where we provided meals to families and individuals throughout the city. We have since expanded to provide our healthy and affordable meals to children in a range of educational settings in and around Sheffield. Our mission is to ensure everyone has access to affordable, tasty and healthy meals.
Being a Sheffield business, we are also focused on helping the local community. That's why we have and always will pledge a portion of our profits to personally providing food to the less-fortunate in Sheffield and are always open to new opportunities to help feed the people who need it most!

From our founder:
Hello, I’m Dylan. As a former London-based professional chef, I’ve been working in kitchens since I was 15 (though I’m now 22 – I know, I don’t look it!). While my roots are in restaurant dining, my passion lies in making high-quality, nutritious food accessible to those who need it most—especially growing children.
That’s why I founded The Steel Spoon, a dedicated school and nursery catering service committed to providing fresh, wholesome, and delicious meals that fuel young minds. We know that busy nurseries and schools need reliable, nutritious, and adaptable meal solutions, so we create balanced, carefully curated menus tailored to every child’s needs, including dietary requirements and allergies.
From daily nutritious meals to bespoke celebration menus, we make healthy eating effortless and exciting, helping children develop a love for great food from an early age. Let’s nurture the next generation with meals that are as thoughtful as they are delicious.
